Your practice is a teaching institution
Private practices and ambulatory surgery centers can open doors that academic credentialing offices cannot. We supply the curriculum, compliance framework, and coordination, you supply the exam lane.
Become a mentor
What mentors contribute
- Two to four supervised scholar sessions per month during an active cohort
- Signature on competency checklists and a closing letter of recommendation
- Optional research mentorship toward a case report or manuscript
- In kind contributions: clinic and imaging suite time, surgical observation access, teaching materials
- Host a practice or site: dedicated observation space and imaging equipment access
- Ambulatory surgery center or office based observation setup with a named supervising physician
- A staff point of contact for scheduling and documentation
- Willingness to follow the program's observer agreement and orientation protocol
Operating environment
Ambulatory surgery center & office based observation requirements
- Facility orientation before the first observation day: layout, roles, emergency procedures
- Signed observer agreement on file at the facility, not only with the program
- Surgical attire: scrubs, cap, mask, and shoe covers supplied or specified by the facility
- Sterile field rules: defined standing zones, no contact with draped surfaces, no equipment handling
- Direct supervision at all times, a scholar is never unaccompanied in a procedural area
- Patient consent to observation obtained in advance; any patient may decline
- No photography, recording, or personal devices in procedural areas
